Police said a woman who was learning to drive a car lost control behind the wheel and crashed into a number of rocks at Melrose Cemetery, Massachusetts.

Melrose Police Department.

On Saturday, April 16, a luxury car passed over the headstones of a Massachusetts cemetery and overturned grave signs in several areas, police said.

Police in Melrose – about 10 miles north of Boston – responded to a call around 2:30 p.m. about a “car crash” at a Wyoming cemetery.

When officers arrived, they saw a wrecked Range Rover parked in the middle of a pile of broken rocks, a photo released by police shows.

The driver, Melroz’s 53-year-old wife, was learning to drive but lost control, the report said. He had a student license and was riding with a relative who had a license.

None of them were injured, police said, but many graves were damaged and at least eight headstones fell.

The workers of the city successfully erected the sold stones.

Melrose police are investigating the crash.
