The actor showed off his questionable cooking skills, but some fans were left seriously distracted by Ryan’s youthful looks and were surprised to discover that he’s actually 38.

One wrote: “Has Ryan aged at all since he was in Corrie? #celebritymasterchef.”

Another posted: “Gosh. Ryan Thomas has aged very well hasn’t he? Oh and he can cook. #celebritymasterchef.”

A third added: “Ryan looks great for his age. Hasn’t changed since his Corrie days.”

Ryan is known for playing the role of Jason Grimshaw on ITV soap soap Coronation Street from 2000 until 2016.

In 2018, he played Rafael Humphreys in Australian soap opera Neighbors, and won the twenty-second and final series of Celebrity Big Brother.

It comes after Ryan left viewers feeling queasy after he failed to remove the “digestive tract” from his prawn dish.

Their first challenge was a Knowledge and Skills Test, where the celebrities had the terrifying task of facing judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace one-on-one.

They demonstrated their ability to make sweet and sour prawn balls in just 20 minutes, but some found it harder than others.

Actor Ryan admitted he’d never prepared a prawn before, leaving the judges concerned.

Ryan immediately began chopping up the prawn into small pieces, failing to remove the ‘vein’, which is the black line that runs down the back of a shelled prawn.

This black line is, in fact, the intestinal tract of the prawn, it isn’t harmful but the prawn will be more pleasant to eat if removed.

After a nervous round, Ryan managed to serve his dish, but the judges were left bemused by his lack of cooking knowledge.

After taking one bite, Greg said: “Your prawn balls are cooked but I much rather you’d have got that digestive tract out of it, which is gritty and dirty.

“But I don’t think you should be ashamed of your efforts there.”

Viewers were also feeling a nauseous after spotting Ryan’s cooking mishap.

One fan wrote: “I don’t understand why people go on #MasterChef if they don’t have basic skills. It’s not Celebrity Learn To Cook. #CelebrityMasterChef”

Another posted: “That is revolting, he left the poo in the prawn. #CelebrityMasterChef”

A third said: “Poo-bag prawns…mmmm. #CelebrityMasterChef”

“Gritty and dirty but not ashamed, a metaphor for life and prawn balls. #CelebrityMasterChef,” another joked.

Unfortunately, the competition was over for dancer Katya.

Ryan, Lisa and Kitty will go head-to-head next week as they fight for a place in the semi-final.
