In a vote that ended on April 8, Cincinnati.com readers chose the Cincinnati Enquirer Athlete of the Week, featured by Mercy Health, from high school sports to April 3.
Winter certificates 2022 were sent and were supposed to reach the sports departments.

This Week’s Spring Team for Ohio Boys: Muller Baseball – The Crusaders defeated their first three enemies 32-6, including a 14-3 victory against rival St. Xavier.
This week’s Spring Team for North Kentucky / Indiana Boys: Rail Athletics – With 103 points in total, Rail won first place in the Holmes Stan Stead competition on April 2nd.
Ohio Girls’ Spring Team of the Week: Talwanda Softball – Telwanda has won its first four games this year without allowing a single run, taking out Northwest 21-0, Colarine 12-0 and Mount Healthy twice with 17-0 and 13-0 wins.
North Kentucky / Indiana Girls’ Spring Team: Bishop Brosart Track and Field – The Lady Mustang competed in the Stan Steidel Invitational on April 2, winning with 118 points in total.
Ohio High School Baseball Player: Noah Private, Telwanda – The field player and young pitcher is hitting 667 so far this season with three away hits and six runs. On the mound, he threw four balls, rounds without batting with five tackles.
Baseball Player in Ohio Small School: Jack Nash, Reading – The senior surpassed 2 on 4 with a double and two RBIs in Reading’s 7-4 win over Princeton on April 2nd.
Northern Kentucky Baseball Player: Keegan Flaherty, Rail – He surpassed 2-on-2 with a double, a walk and four RBIs in Rail’s win over Holy Cross on March 30th.
Lacrosse Boys: Nick Sereng, Lakota East – He had five goals and three ground balls in a 14-1 victory over Fairfield on March 31.
Lacrosse Girls: Ryan Armstrong, Anderson – The senior scored four goals and had six ground balls and four draws in Anderson’s 10-6 win over little Miami.
Ohio High School Softball Player: Kylie Cobb, Telwanda – The freshman hit Homer, knocked in four runs and scored twice in Talonde’s win over a healthy mountain on March 31st.
Softball player at a small school in Ohio: Camerin Linman, Taylor – She put on two full games against Cooper and South Dirborn, threw 29 hits and gave up just one run she won. She also hit Home Run.
Northern Kentucky / Indiana Softball Player: Rachel Schumaker, Bishop of Rosart – She was 7 of 8 with 11 RBI, Home Run and three doubles in two Mustang wins last week.
Tennis: Paul Ninaver-Daniel Miller, Oak Hills – The tandem is 2-0 this season in first pairs for the Highlands.
Ohio Youth Athlete: Colin Kloppstein, Williamsburg “The junior won the boys’ discus at the West Clermont Invitational with a 122’11 shot.”
Northern Kentucky Youth Athlete: Kaden Gardner, Ryle In the Stan Steidel Invitational on June 2, the youngster won the high jump with 6 feet-6 inches, finished second in the long jump and third in the 300 hurdles.
Ohio Girls Athletics Track and Field: Eli Colgate, Loveland – The junior won first place in the 300-meter hurdles at the West Clermont Invitational on March 31 with a time of 53.12.
Northern Kentucky Athletic Girls: Abigail Cope, Dixie Heights – The junior won all four of her events at the Canton Championships on March 29, in the 200 and 400 meters, and in the 4-x-200 and 4-x-400 relay missions. She helped lead the colonels to the group title.
Boys Volleyball: Brandon Wong, Muller Wong had a record of 14 digs in Mueller’s win over Fenwick on March 29.
