Inspiring and Successful Leadership Awards by Pragati Leadership

These awards aim to recognize Indian corporate leaders who create energized and aligned teams to steer organizations toward success. The first round of these awards was held in August 2022, recognizing some of the country’s most impactful and successful CEOs from the Manufacturing and Supply Chain industry.

At the start of the awards ceremony, Pragati Leadership founder Arun Wakhlu said, “The last few years have been turbulent with the pandemic, wars, climate change, and other disruptions forcing us to think what is the purpose of all this striving. The prognosis for the future is that things will worsen before getting better. In such times, businesses can be a powerful force for good. Details of the winners of the Inspiring and Successful Leadership Awards for the IT industry are as follows.

Sachin Ghaisas, Managing Partner, Emtec Digital Services

An accomplished techno-functional IT Global leader with more than 27 years of diversified experience, Sachin Ghaisas is responsible for managing a $60 mn P&L for the BU with 1000+ resources across the US, Canada, and India. His consistent efforts have tripled the revenue over the last three years. In his acceptance speech, Sachin stressed the importance of EQ and IQ to hire and retain talent during these times when the pandemic has modified the way businesses have worked since historical times.

Nitin Deshpande, President, Evolent Health International

Over an illustrious career spanning more than four decades, his experience spans healthcare, manufacturing, and system management domains. Nitin actively mentors upcoming talent and builds people-centric culture in every organization he has led. In his acceptance speech, Nitin spoke about the importance of learning from others while leading teams. He made an important point: “A 100% match of the skills is not necessarily the right person to hire. It’s the fit for attitude rather than the skills. Skills can be taught, which in any case need to be learned, re-learned, and re-learned as they keep changing, whereas attitude is something that lasts you for a lifetime.

Ms. Kashish Kapoor, VP HR, NEC Corporation India Pvt. Ltd.

In her career spanning 24 years, she has spent the last 14 years in the services sector, working with large and complex enterprises. Ms. Kapoor spoke about how we have spent years building complex engagement models to handle the simple task of handling human engagement. However, as we mature, it simply comes down to trust, authenticity, communication, and having a conversation.

Mr. LC Singh, Executive Vice Chairman, Nihilent Ltd.

Nihilent, with a presence in India, Australia, Sweden, the UK, and South Africa having strategic partnerships with Microsoft, AWS, SAP, Snowflake, Google, and others, is a global consulting and services organization. Mr. Singh adopts a human-centric approach to enable clients to realize their strategic goals by adopting comprehensive business consulting, analytics, and technology offerings. His leadership skills focus on constant experimentation with cutting-edge technology. Mr. Singh regularly collaborates with BVJSS initiatives that serve orphans, tribal communities, and physically challenged and underprivileged children.

Mr. Krish Shankar, Group Head HR, Infosys

Over the last three decades, Mr. Shankar has led global organizations like Bharti Airtel and Hindustan Lever. His book “Catalyse – power up your people ecosystem” is the new HR playbook providing a practical guide to unlocking people power. Mr. Shankar is a people-centric leader who believes in common sense and living to our human values. His authenticity, humbleness. , inclusiveness, and willingness to learn makes him an excellent leader. In his address during the awards, he said, “Leadership is all about being human, using your common sense, respecting people, and staying to your values..”

Ms. Vaishali Raj, Head HR, Godrej Infotech Ltd.

Her philosophy that HR is a strategic business partner makes her a key member in strategy formulation and executive decisions spanning people and technology. She believes leaders today should not lose sight of their learnings during the pandemic. According to Ms. Raj, three leadership skills that must be integrated include agility, data-driven decision-making, and empathy.

Mr. Harshvendra Soin, Global Chief People Officer and Marketing Head, Tech Mahinda

Harshvendra has a rich experience spanning 26 years and has been a part of Tech Mahindra since 2012. Before Tech Mahindra, he worked with Fortis Healthcare, Aditya Birla Retail Limited, and Bharti Enterprises. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Soin mentioned that a leader is as good as the team and was thankful to the Tech Mahindra team that made it possible for him to earn this recognition. He also accepted the responsibility of providing a healthy, happy, and productive workplace for all the associates.

Mr. Krishna Raghavan, Chief People Officer, Flipkart

Mr. Raghavan is a leader with a strong administrative strategy and believes that every employee’s experience is based on multiple factors and is primarily determined by his direct manager. His innovative Employee Value Proposition is based on ‘Leave a mark,’ ‘Experiment, learn, and grow,’ ‘Learn with best’, and ‘We care.’ His leadership belief is based on three Cs; connect, communicate, and catalyze, which have allowed him to bring out the best in every individual under diverse circumstances.

Milind Lakkad, Executive VP and CHRO, TCS

Mr. Lakkad is passionate about building a purpose-driven learning organization that transcends geographical barriers. His vision is to provide a positive environment and create a learning culture, enabling enriching career growth.

He was unable to attend the award ceremony due to previous commitments.

Anurag Verma, VP Human Resources, Uniphore

Anurag has been instrumental in building organizational culture, change management, company development, and talent management. He has worked with several start-ups and fast-paced organizations and played an important role in scaling and transforming these businesses. During his acceptance speech, Anurag said, “In any organization, you may have a great technology, you may have a great product or services, but that alone can’t make a difference because driving the force behind this are people..”
