Jansi VGCC Dean for Corporate Training and Professional Development | News

Vance Granville Community College recently named Dr. Lorica Jansi as its new dean of corporate education and professional development. In this role, she identifies and develops staff training and development programs for employers in the community and at the same time serves as VGCC’s leading Franklin County campus manager.

Jansy has roots in the area since she grew up in Warren County and in 1996 graduated from Warren County High School.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to work as the Dean of Corporate Education and Professional Development at VGCC,” he said. “I look forward to offering in-service training in Franklin, Granville, Vance and Warren for businesses, nonprofits and government agencies.”

Jansy comes to VGCC from Mount Olive University, where she has worked as a director of career development and student access. He previously held similar roles at Chavan University, where he also worked in student housing and residential living. Jansi has also been an instructor or trainer at these universities, as well as the University of Redford and Virginia Tech. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Campbell University, a master’s degree in public administration from Appalachian State University, a master’s degree in law from West Virginia University and a doctorate in education with a focus on higher education from Grand Canyon University.

“Doctor. Jansy’s 17-year career in higher education has equipped her with the skills necessary to lead VGCC’s corporate learning and training opportunities, ”said Dr. Jerry Edmonds, VGCC Vice President for Workforce and Community Engagement. “Doctor. Jansy will work closely with small and medium businesses and civil society organizations to offer a range of development training opportunities, such as team building and leadership. The VGCC is delighted to welcome Dr. Jansi to the Avangard family and we look forward to witnessing his further success. ”
