Jordan Crawford of Simsboro and Rylee Cloud of Fairview Lead LSWA National Class B Teams | High school sport

A B-Class basketball victory is nothing new to Fairview’s Rylee Cloud or Simbor’s Jordan Crawford, whose teams have won the last three LHSAA B-Class Championships.

The senior duo is now adding another great honor to their career CVs. Cloud and Crawford were selected as outstanding players in teams in all Class B states selected by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.

Cloud, a member of Arkansas, was the only returning starter for Fairview. Cloud played a leading role, averaging 26 points, five rebounds, four assists and four wins to compete in the Fairview title competition. Two of Cloud’s teammates, Reesie Jinks and Bella Smith, also made it to the national team.

Crawford is joined by teammates Nick Maryland and Chilaydren Newton in the boys’ team. Crawford averaged 16 points and eight rebounds and was the district’s best player.

Oak Hill’s Kaci West and Lacassin’s Micah Rasberry won Coach of the Year.

West led the girls from Oak Hill to the largest number of victories in the school’s history. West’s team gathered around Anacoc to reach the state finals for the first time in the school’s history. Alexis Dyer from Oak Hill was also selected for the first team.

Rasberry and Lacassine also had a remarkable season. The Cardinals took 4th place in the playoffs and made it to the LHSAA tournament, where they lost to the later champion Simsbor in the semifinals.
