Junior Cert Class of 2022 Finally Get Results Today

More than 67,000 students will finally get their Junior Certificate results today, five months after sitting their exams.

The results are being issued two months later than usual, with the State Examinations Commission (SEC) blaming the hold-up on a shortage of examiners and delays with this year’s Leaving Certificate results.

The Minister for Education, Norma Foley, says a full review of the Junior Cert results process will be carried out, to ensure similar delays don’t happen again next year.
However, Minister Foley says she accepts the State Examinations Commission’s view that they had “particular challenges this year”.

Junior Cert grades have been sent to schools around the country, with the results also available online from 4 pm today.

Results can be accessed online at www.examinations.ie. Students will need their examination number and their unique candidate Personal Identification Number, which the SEC says was recently issued to schools.

In a statement this morning, the State Examinations Commission offered an explanation for this year’s delay in issuing this year’s Junior Cert results, “The results of the 2022 Leaving Certificate were issued on 2 September with the appeals issued 5 weeks later on Friday 7 October. This year, if all of the markings had been completed within the normal timelines, the Junior Cycle results would have been due to be issued to candidates at the end of October”.
