“Jeopardy!” will launch a new “Second Chance” competition on Monday, Oct. 17, that includes 18 former players who did not become champions in their initial appearances.
Those players include a teacher from Philadelphia, Erica Weiner-Amachi, who appeared in season 38.
Sony Pictures Television said the competition will air over the course of two weeks. Each week will include three semifinal games and a two-day final. The winner of each week will earn a spot in the Tournament of Champions that starts on Monday, Oct. 31.
Sony said the roster includes only contestants who have played since the last Tournament of Champions in May 2021.

- Molly Karol, a certified public accountant from Austin, Texas (Season 38)
- Tracy Pitzel, an accountant from Ellensburg, Washington (Season 38)
- Renée Russell, a branch office administrator from Baltimore, Maryland (Season 38)
- Pam Schoenberg, a dentist and entrepreneur from South Salem, New York (Season 38)
- Jessica Stephens, a statistical research specialist from Nashville, Tennessee (Season 38)
- Erica Weiner-Amachi, a teacher from Philadelphia (Season 38)
- Cindy Zhang, a user experience designer from New York, New York (Season 38)
Week 2, Oct. 24-28
- Sadie Goldberger, an interpreter from Columbia, Maryland (Season 38)
