A DARLINGTON school is inviting local, older residents in for a Christmas afternoon of food, fun, and festivities.
Longfield Academy is delighted to be holding its Senior Citizen Christmas Party, once again, on Tuesday, 20 December – the first time since 2019.
Mrs Sweeten, Headteacher, said: “I’m delighted that we can once again open our doors to local elderly residents. It’s so important for us to be able to positively engage with the community and bring some joy to people’s lives.
“The pupils and staff are busying away with plans and rehearsals and can’t wait to be part of the festivities. It’s my first Christmas event at Longfield Academy, and I look forward to enjoying many more events in the years to come.”
Residents of local care homes, sheltered accommodation and elderly relatives of current pupils, are being invited to attend the Festive Afternoon Tea, which will include a range of delicious savory and sweet treats, and refreshments.
As well as a scrumptious afternoon tea, the event will be filled with entertainment from staff and pupils, including dance performances, bingo, and music.
Booking is required, and places are limited and will therefore be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. To inquire about the event, please contact the school on 01325 380815.
