To Save Regional Languages, Use Them To Teach Students: Experts | Dehradun News

Dehradun: In a two-day national conference held here, experts from the country’s 10 universities delivered lectures, wherein they advocated for using regional languages ​​to save them from extinction. The conference was organized jointly by Shri Guru Ram Rai University and Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology, ministry of education, government of India. Subject specialists from country’s 10 universities delivered lectures at the conference which started on Monday.
More than 500 participants from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh etc. took part In the conference, which was organized at the auditorium of Shri Guru Ram Rai University.
The experts from ten different states of the country shared knowledge on the topic — ‘Role of Scientific and Technical Terminology in Quality and Innovative Research Education: A Perspective to NEP-2020.’ They laid emphasis on using regional languages ​​to save them from extinction.
Speaking at the conference, the director general (DG) of Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology, Durgesh Pantsaid, “The New Education Policy-2020 tries to safeguard our culture and tradition in multiple ways and one of the most effective among them is the extensive use of regional languages ​​in school and college curriculum, so that these languages ​​can be passed on to the next generation.”
Guest of honor, chairman of Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology, ministry of education, government of India, Professor Dr Girish Nath Jha, and vice chancellor, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dr Uday Singh Rawat laid emphasis on preserving the languages ​​of even the smallest and the remotest parts of the country, as it would also help ensure protection of our culture. They said that due to changing circumstances, so many local and regional languages ​​are on the verge of extinction.
