Tallahassee, Fla., March 31, 2022 / PRNewswire / – Coping with labor shortages, an innovative vocational training initiative in Floridadeveloped by WIN Learning, provides pre-mining ways for citizens to return quickly for employment while at the same time preparing new workers for work. In partnership with Florida HIRES (Assisting inmates in achieving employment success), WIN Learning is leading a coalition of public and private partners to prepare detainees within 180 days of release from the Florida Department of Corrections with the necessary soft skills and training in technical skills, including truck driving.

Those who graduate from the Florida HIRES CDL program will receive a Class B commercial driver’s license that allows them to use commercial trucks, concrete trucks, and ambulances. Although there are no job guarantees, 100 percent of Florida HIRES CDL graduates have been offered jobs. while were arrested and served their sentences.
Florida HIRES also provides capital construction, use of heavy equipment, electrical, advanced manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, and hospitality / training. Participants receive intensive training on employment and a Florida Soft Skills certificate, which is a stackable certificate that demonstrates communication skills, professionalism, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving that employers in the most demanding industries.
