Women crew compete in the annual Knecht Cup

Camden, NJ – The Ithaca College Women’s Crew Team traveled to Camden, New Jersey this weekend, where they competed in the Connect Cup Regatta. The annual race includes crews from across the country, giving the bombers a variety of competitions over the weekend. The road trip allowed multiple racing opportunities for each lineup in the heats and finals. ICICE Women’s University had eight entries, the Second Women’s University had entries in the DII V8 category and the Women’s University in the DII category.

Women’s University were eight in their first match for the Bombers on Saturday. The lineup includes Coxswain Michelle Highland, Allison Art, Eliza Worth, Bogdanovic dishes, Taylor Wolmrich, Izzy Ozkurt, Glenn Hartley, Carly Valen And Laura is the coach. In this heat, the bombers confronted the crew from Drexel, Mercyhurst, Villanova, West Virginia and Iona. In the final time of 7: 03.43, IC finished fourth ahead of Iona and West Virginia. Saturday’s results will put the Bombers 1V in the petite final on Sunday. Sunday’s final will include a crew from Thomas Jefferson, Delaware, Radcliffe, LaSalle and Stetson. The Bombers finished the course in 7: 11.67, finishing sixth behind Thomas Jefferson in 6: 58.46.

For Bombay’s second university eight, which falls into the eight categories of DII University, the lineup faced staff from Stockton, Susquehanna and Brian Maver. Overall, it was a great weekend of racing and bombers success. IC was able to bring home two gold medals in the nationally recognized Connect Cup regatta and some of the best improvements overall in the water. The bombers will return to Ithaca, where they will train to take RIT at the Kayuga Inlet next Saturday.
