Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas to offer trainings throughout October

Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas is offering a variety of free services throughout October to help individuals get jobs “or on a path to sustainable careers” and to help businesses thrive.

The available services include, pop-up workforce centers, childcare assistance, workshops and online learning, according to a news release.

Online learning includes free access to more than 6,000 online courses “to build skills and knowledge” through SkillUp Deep East Texas.

“SkillUp Deep East Texas is a cost-effective opportunity for people to develop certificate-based job skills and upgrade their existing skill levels without additional expenses for travel, childcare and program fees,” the release states. “Participants receive digital badges or certificates as they complete each training session. Resume Workshop – helps participants build quality resumes, highlight relevant skills and experiences in interesting and easy to read formatting.

The free workshops are offered on a variety of topics, including résumés, interviews, WorkInTexas.com and helping ex-offenders pursue employment.

“Parents who are working or attending school may be eligible for help paying their child care expenses,” the release states.

Pop-up workforce centers will be located throughout East Texas throughout the month.

“To bring services closer to residents of the rural communities, Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas partners with local organizations and offers pop-up centers,” the release states. “Individuals have access to useful tools for finding a job, improving skills, and furthering or changing careers.”
